This, incredibly beautiful and unique Victorian sentimental ring is crafted from solid 18ct Gold. It is marked for such on the inside of its band.  

Its black enamel face features a beautiful cross comprised of 6 rose cut diamonds in a gold setting.  Given the black enamel and the cross, this ring will have been a memorial ring, and the locket back woud probably have been filled with the loved ones hair.  The locket back has now been cleaned and removed. 

The face of the ring measures 1.1cm x 7mm and it weighs 3.52g. The buttery gold band, which is  a generous size UK U  (US size 10),  is hallmarked for 18ct Gold.  It bears not date mark, but i would date it to the mid-Victorian era. 

This ring is in excellent antique condition, with the enamel remaining in incredible condition, given its 150 year old history, with just a teeny bit of loss right up at the top. This is not noticable when worn - but i have taken it into consideration when pricing this ring.
