Product Details

Set on a substantial 18ct gold band, this superb antique ring features a vibrant amethyst sandwiched between two old cut diamonds and two round chalcedony gemstones.  The claw set gems are well set, and they catch the light beautifully.

This piece of history is hallmarked for 18ct Gold and Birmingham, but the date mark has now been rubbed. That said, it is likely to be Edwardian, dating to around 1908 - 1910.

Currently a UK size N (US 6 3/4), this piece could easily be re-sized up or down. It weighs a very helathy 3.13g and it has been cleaned and is ready to wear.

Suffragette jewellery (mainly rings and pendants) were worn during the Edwardian era to show support for the women’s suffragette movement. There are several stories about the suffragette colours, but the most popular says that their colours spelt out the secret message; Give Women Votes! (Green for ‘Give’, White for ‘Women’ and Violet for ‘Votes’.)

Please have a look at the pictures and video and dont hesitate to get in touch if you require any further information.
